What now Mr. Speaker?

What now Mr. Speaker?

Anytime someone decides to run for presidency there is certain to be some opposition to him or her, the question is whether or not that individual has what it takes to make it to the finish line. As a candidate, Newt Gingrich was no stranger to politics, especially since the speaker has already held the third highest political office in the land. There comes a time when we all see the writing on the wall and decide that cashing in our chips is probably the best thing for everyone, it is with this in mind that Gingrich decided that it was time to park his campaign and let someone else with a better chance of winning, take hold of the wheel. After suspending his run for the White House, some speculated that the speaker would throw his endorsement behind the front runner, however, Romney is yet to get the nod from his former rival.

The first time I heard Gingrich make a statement about colonizing the moon I must say that I was a little concerned about his political future, especially since there were so many more important matters to be addressed here on earth, but for anyone who knows him, that is just the way Gingrich is. I believe that the former speaker has made important strides to engineering a better society, but it is obvious that some of his beliefs were not powerful enough to get him confirmed as the parties front runner. As a conservative he may have been a bit too far to the right and that could also have hurt his chances of winning the fight to Washington. I do believe that Gingrich should remain in the limelight and I am glad that his intention is to do just that, the more watch dogs we have against our elected candidates, the better our chances of making them do the right thing.
