Volcano Eruption in Iceland Might Trigger a Powerful Eruption

Last Saturday, Eyjafjallajokull (AYA-feeyapla-yurkul) volcano found in south-central Iceland, erupted and until now its volcanic activity is increasing. Scientists said that it might trigger a nearby volcano named Mount Katla, as of now there are no signs of changes in the said volcano. The said eruption was a result of the tectonic processes that is happening on earth. Tectonic processes are believed to be the cause of some of the violent and deadliest eruptions that happened in history.

If Mount Katla will erupt, it will melt huge amounts of ice that will make the areas nearby to be flooded. Last Sunday, rescue teams have evacuated 500 people from the rural area, and the area near the volcano is already under the state of emergency. Due to ash falls, international flights were diverted.
