The Blog Experience
Since I am 72-years-old and retired from work, I thought it would be fun to start a blog on the Internet. And that is exactly what I did.
Of course, I had to start from square one and knew absolutely nothing about blogging. I still don't know as much as I should, but I think I am learning.
So, I got into the blogging platform and set one up and designed it and it looked pretty good to me so I launched it.
I was so excited and I started checking the statistics tracker every day to see if anyone was reading the new blog.
For days and days I kept seeing figures like "3 visitors" or "12 visitors today."
Wow! At least I had anywhere from 3 to 12 people reading me. I thought that was just grand!
Then I learned that there are more than One Hundred Million blogs on the Internet. After learning this, my dozen or so readers did not look all that great even though I was grateful that someone had actually taken the time to look at my handicraft.
Well, it has been five months since launch now and I have learned a few things about search engine optimization and all that stuff and guess what? I am now getting almost 200 visits a day and have had more than Eleven Thousand visitors since launch. That is so much better! That, in fact, is very pleasing to me.
Well, I don't know where this blog is going but I know it is fun to watch as it gets readers in more than 40 countries around the world.
Just though I would share that.
