Tate Modern

Efficiently housed in the old Bankside Power Station, the Tate Modern Gallery provides a symmetrical focal point to St Paul’s Cathedral which prevails over the skyline on the north side of the River Thames. Once a symbol of industry, the steepling tower on Bankside now represents a symbol of culture juxtaposed against the emblematic faith of Christopher Wren’s epic dome.

A visit to the Gallery is a wonderful experience. Traversing the majestic old river by foot along the wonderfully pedestrian and once wobbly Millenium Bridge, you arrive at the Tate suffused with the powerful awareness of London’s history and magnificence.

Space is at a premium in the city but the huge scale of the gallery gives you a sense of detachment within your own personal space, allowing you the opportunity to create a channel between the conscious and subconscious mind. A link that turns dis-orientating images into playful thoughts that transform into new ideas, perspectives and a certain lightness of being. A veritable playground for the mind.
