Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen: A New Take on a Classic Story

I was a bit skeptical when I saw the publisher’s blurb about Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen for a couple of reasons but mostly because I’ve read so many Robin Hood tales that all seem pretty much the same. This, however, proved to be a very refreshing look at the age-old story. Although it’s classified as a YA novel, I think it will appeal to all ages especially during these hard economic times.

“No one really knows ‘bout me. I’m Rob’s secret, I’m his informant, I’m his shadow in dark places. No one ever takes me for more than a knockabout lad, a whip of a boy. They never really see. And I don’t mind that they don’t see.” Read the rest of my review at http://popcornreads.com/?p=2965
