I was initially attracted to the book cover for Same Sun Here by Silas House and Neela Vaswani. When I read the publisher’s promo, it sounded very interesting so I requested an advance readers’ copy of this novel about pen pals. Southern country boy meets East Indian city girl. Because of its subject matter, Same Sun Here should appeal to a much broader readership than just tweens and teens.

River lives in a small Appalachian mountain town, Black Banks, Kentucky. His father is a coal miner who’s had to take a job in another state because the work at home has dried up.
