That caught your eye...didn't it. Don't worry we won't judge you if you read this posting on poop. I mean - ya just gotta find out why I'm so happy about poop right? I know that I would be intrigued...what person in their right mind would right a post on poop right? I'll tell ya what person...this person! And I ain't ashamed to say it!

Only a mom...right?

You see....my poor baby has been constipated these past coupla days. We started him on rice cereal on Friday and he slowly but surely started to get backed up.

So we called the doctor on Monday who told us not to worry but gave us a "prescription" for Karo Syrup. Well, last night he had two bottles of the stuff and nothing happened until the late morning.

Around 10:30am my little man woke up from his morning nap and started crying. My brother (who was home at the time...he's rarely home so times like these are great for him to bond with Lil D) picked him up and started walking around. Thats when the farting started.

Lemme tell you my little man can fart like a champion. Seriously, his farts sound like a mans fart and smells like tar (really...what is in that formula that makes it smell like that?).

In fact, at one time I blamed my brother for farting when in fact...it was little man. With a face like little mans....its just hard to believe he would make a sound like that. Ha, my baby fart loud? Shame on you for thinking that!

Anyhow, I took little man from him and checked his diaper. There was nothing...but he was really fussy and crying. I just figured it was his little tummy hurting him because he was backed up.

So I ignored the cries as something unconsolable (or is it inconsolable?)  and put him down for tummy time.

My poor baby. That probably helped him being on tummy time but still.....my poor baby.

Well after tummy time he started crying (shocker of course). I picked him up and started playing with him on the couch....then there was the smell. Wowie was there a bad smell coming from somewhere.

At first I thought it was my bad breath (I always check me first when I smell something funky...don't you?) and we kept playing. Then he started making that face. You know that face - his poop face. I thought great he's trying to poop. Boy did he poop.

But first he cried. It was cute to hear him trying to push out the poop...but I knew it was hurting him so I didn't dwell too much on how "cute" those faces and noises were. I mean...its cute seeing him acting like a big kid but my poor baby!

He had so much in him and even then while I was cleaning him he was still trying to go. So I guess the Karo syrup worked. I still watch him though for signs that something is wrong...but praise the Lord he's ok.

Moms you're with me on this...am I right? Or am I right? IT's great when your baby poops after a while of constipation!

Man if you told me 2 years ago I would be so excited about poop that I would write a post about it...I would've laughed at you and called you crazy. How times have changed me...well really how Lil D has changed me.

Hopefully this will be the last of the constipation.....well at least for a while. Or am I being delusional? Be honest...please.
