Poire Belle Helene: French Dessert Recipe

Poire Belle Helene (Beautifu Helen Pears) is a French dessert that is made from poached pears in sugar syrup topped with vanilla ice-cream, and/or glazed with chocolate sauce. Poire Belle Helene variant of the Fench dessert-cake called a clafoutis. The traditional clafoutis has black cherries placed in a buttered dish and covered with thick flan-like batter, and originated from a region France called Limousin. It is then dusted with powered sugar and served warm.
Preparation of Poire Belle Helene is fast and simple, baking it takes under 1 hour and it is usually eaten straight away fresh out of the oven.
