No Love For Peace
I don’t know how many technical fouls and more importantly how many unnecessary actions Metta World Peace, formerly known as Ron Artest, is responsible for but I am not sure what this guy is still doing playing in the NBA or any other league.
Maybe the league figures the uncertainty of what Metta will do from game to game keeps fans watching. He was involved in the ugliest incident in NBA’s history and maybe sport’s history while he played for the Indiana Pacers; World Peace went into the stands and beat up on a fan who he thought threw something at him. As it turned out the fan was innocent and Metta beat up on the wrong guy.
It seems every game Metta will get into a scuffle with another player and most times it is World Peace who starts it. His latest incident was on a Sunday afternoon game when after making a layup Metta then throw an elbow to the head of Oklahoma City Thunder player James Harden. The blow was a cheap shot and it gave Harden a concussion.
Incidents like fighting a fan and throwing an elbow to a player’s head are good enough reasons to throw Metta out of the NBA in my opinion; especially when you add all the technical fouls he gets and all the scuffles he causes. Just because he changed his name from Ron Artest to Metta World Peace doesn’t mean he is a changed person. He is still a short fused person with anger issues. If anything he is the opposite of world peace.
