Managing Stress: Turn Your Enemy Into Your Ally

Stress is not something that happens, but something that we create. It is not good nor bad, but a functional physiological change that prepares us to face different situations.
In a dangerous situation (real or imaginary), stress releases reactions that sharpen your senses and generate a great amount of energy that modifies the body mechanisms. But the world has changed, and we no longer have to escape from predators or run in order to hunt. The physical exercise, which is key to consume this energy surplus, constitues a distinct lack in the sedentary modern western society.
The most frequent reaction to stress is anxiety, which causes stiffness and defensive positions (stress is indeed a natural defensive position that we have maintained for millenia).
