São Paulo – President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, in a speech at a dinner sponsored by the Arab community of São Paulo, declared that he will visit Iran in May with the objective of ensuring that the crisis caused by the Iranian nuclear program does not degenerate into an armed conflict involving Western countries.
“You know that I have been getting a lot of criticism because the president of Iran, Ahmadinejad, visited Brazil. And I decided to go to Iran. Well, I am going there because I don’t want to see the same mistake that was made in Iraq happen again,” said Lula.
