It is amazing to me to see the difference in appearence in people who have the exact same height and weight. My real life story comes from an eye opening experience not that long ago. I have always been afraid of being over weight and the older I got the more drastic measures I would take to maintain what I thought was an ideal weight. By any insurance chart i am on the low side of normal so it was a surprise when I had my BMI measured and it showed 36 (That is a very bad BMI) I also had a few other tests run that day which showd I had had a mild heart attack and was at risk for a stroke. (I later had a couple of TIAs) That wake up call put me on a search for easy, natural and frugal ways to live a healthier liffe style. You can see pictures of real people and their real weight over at http://www.cockeyed.com/photos/bodies (Not my website, but the one that helps me feel better about where I am) I especially like the comment from a model who says that most models lie about their weight and she was 5'9" and weighed 160 lbs. She was gorgeous but probably had a BMI of 8.
My goal in writing this article is to tell them not to do what I did,, live on 800 calories a day to try to stay thin (and with a BMI of 36 I sure wasn't) I hurt my organs and am working hard to rebuild my health. Eat well, exercise and be happy.
