Our previous post in our interiordesign bathroom series, looked at selecting taps with wow factor to compliment your new design scheme.  Now You've selected the structure of your new bathroom design, it's time to have a bit more fun.  bathroom furniture has become increasingly popular and can be your chance to make a statement or to inject a bit of your own personality into your space.

In our next post we'll be taking a look at a sample of bathroom furniture that can be incorporated into your design to make your room little bit more interesting.  This post is intended to be read on its own or as part of the full series, the next posts will be covering, heating options, designing with tiles, lighting and accessories.

A few considerations

Remember to consider your household when selecting your bathroom furniture, the height of each individual in your household and any additional safety planning should be considered.

These considerations may be in addition to any previous safety planning/measures considered in respect of bath/shower choices you've made.  Remember careful planning ensures you have both a stylish, practical and safe bathroom to relax in.

Bathrooms have evolved significantly over decades from a typical bathroom having a standard bath wash hand basin and WC.  Now we have access to multiple bathroom solutions including coordinated suites, with mix and match options and ranges based upon current trends for sanitary ware to be dressed I.e. bathroom furniture.

Help to achieve your bathroom improvements

Including bathroom furniture in your design is not as difficult as it may seem and there are so many options in respect of receiving support to carry out your bathroom improvements.  There is a huge range of advice resources available via bathroom installers, do it yourself advice guides and of course Interior designers.

Types of bathroom furniture

Choosing bathroom furniture is optional and the choices made, should be personal to you and your household. Your design considerations may be entirely or partially design focused, I.e. a need to be stylish, contemporary, minimal or be stylish but functional/practical to meet the needs of those using the space for the majority of the time.

Vanity units

Vanity units are available in a number of options, floor or wall mounted vanity basin cupboard and drawer units, work top vanity units, counter top vanity units, slimline vanity units and corner units to name just a few, featuring various high gloss, veneer and other finishes.  Wall mounted options can add an instant, minimal, stylish  and sophisticated look to a space for a relatively small outlay, making them appealing to all budgets.  Equally enclosed options, make the space seem bigger whilst keeping essential items hidden.

There's so many to choose from, take a look at other options available for inspiration.  As with items of sanitary ware options for small spaces also exist.

Bathroom furniture - shelving

You've seen there are a number of stylish ways to incorporate vanity units into your space, and this also includes shelving options for counter top basins too if you're looking for something outside of the box.

These are just a few ways in which you can use bathroom furniture in your design, there are of course many other options including bathroom cabinets, cupboards and other floor and wall mounted furniture styles to choose from, including many stylish and contemporary options from Victoria Plumb.
