Intel Core i7-2600K Feature
This Intel Core i7-2600K review also reviews the Sandy Bridge architecture as a whole, as well as the mid-range Intel Core i5-2500K processor.
Ready or not, here they come. Intel is rolling out a thoroughly overhauled range of PC processors based on its new Sandy Bridge micro architecture. Our first taste of the new chips comes in the form of the Intel Core i5-2500K and Intel Core i7-2600K desktop CPUs.
Firstly the Intel i7 2600K is a 3.4-3.8GHz, Quad-Core processor which can be overclocked, unlike the normal 2600, to give out a whopping 5GHz proccesing power making it one of the fastest around.
I recently bought this processor as part of a bundle, with an Asus P8P67 Pro Intel Motherboard, which I thought was an absolute bargain! The difference it made to my computer was phenomenal as I immediately saw a difference in my computers boot time and opening of multiple applications (and I am yet to overclock it!). I recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade their CPU in their PC as the difference is immediate and significant, even when upgrading from a relatively new processor!
However, don't let those negatives convince you the new Intel Core i5-2500K and Intel Core i7-2600K chips are stinkers. Compared to their closest equivalents from Intel's existing range - the Intel Core i5-760 and Intel Core i7-870 - the new chips are arguably in a different league.
