How to show appreciation for your talent

Although I don't consider myself as a professional at it by any means, when it comes to music there are a few instruments that I am particularly interested in, like the guitar and the piano. Musicians have a gift that can only be considered as beautiful, the question is whether they use their gift for good or for something else. As human beings we tend to forget that our abilities come from above (and I make no apologies for my atheist readers), in other words if we do not use these talents for some sort of good we may end up losing them altogether. It is very easy for someone who attempts to perform in front of an audience to think that he or she is responsible for all of their accomplishments, thereby forgetting to shower praises where they ought to be.
There is usually a reason why we have a passion for a particular ability and while some of us may end up stifling that desire, others actually allow it to be nurtured and go on to use it for something good. As we are thanked for our services and contributions we should realize that there is a great Conductor who is behind it all and He has a greater plan for these harmonies being portrayed. I am not a professional musician and I doubt that I could ever be, however, I do have the ability to play a piano (by air). I am not sure if I was supposed to use this talent for a greater good, however, I have already lost that opportunity and although I can celebrate the fact that I was provided with the ability, I may have dropped the ball because I failed to recognize it until it was too late.
