Cleaning linoleum floors is easy and simple. You could use homemade cleaning detergents which are cheap and non-toxic.
Here are some tips for cleaning linoleum floors:
As we've already mentioned, linoleum floors need to be cleaned on a regular basis. For routine cleaning, you could use a solution of one cup of white vinegar and two liters of water. Use a soft mop to clean the floor and dry with a towel or an old clean rag.
Twice a year, you would need to pay special attention to your linoleum floor. Scrub it with a soft nylon scrub brush and warm soapy water. Rinse all the excess foam with a damp mop and dry with an old towel.
If your floor already got dirty, make a stronger vinegar solution of two cups of white vinegar and one liter of water and pour it in a spray bottle. Vacuum the floor carefully to remove all dust and debris. Then spray a small part of the linoleum with the vinegar solution and rinse with a damp towel or mop. For tough stains you could use a soft nylon brush to scrub the floor. Dry the section you have already cleaned with a dry cloth. Continue with the next section until all the linoleum is cleaned.
If your linoleum floor has lost its shine, Twickenham cleaners advise to strip and re-wax it. Spread ammonia on the floor, let it stay for 10 minutes and scrub with a soft nylon brush. Then rinse the floor with warm water and dry it carefully. Spread a thin layer of liquid wax on the floor, wait until it dries completely and add another coat of wax.
With the help of those simple tips you will be able to keep linoleum looking shiny and beautiful for many years to come.
