How to Clean Gold

Posted on Nov 21 2011 at 07:45:14 AM in Design

Many people wear jewellery. Today this is more affordable than before. In the past, the gold and the silver were a special privilege to the rich and powerful people, while today anybody who can afford it can go and buy some. Even more, today, thanks to the latest excavating technologies, the gold mining is easier and therefore cheaper than before. This gives anyone the chance to have gold without to have to be some important and famous person.

However, possessing gold means that you will have to take a good care of it and this means that you will have to clean it often and properly.

Cleaning with dish soap

This method is ease to use and very cheap. You will only need several drops of liquid dish washing liquid and some water which can be found in everyone’s house.

  1. The first step you will have to do is to full a bowl with hot water and drop several drops of dish washing detergent in it. However, for better results you can put some club soda in the water. It neutralizes the soil and helps for removing debris left on the gold object.

  2. Then you will nee to leave the object in the water for 15 minutes and when you remove it, you will only have to brush it gently with toothbrush.

3. Rinse the gold gently in warm running water.

4. Use soft cotton cloth to dry well and polish the gold. This will remove all the remained pieces of soil on it and will make it shinier.

However, if you do not have the time or you are not sure that the method you are about to use will be effective enough, you can simply go to a professional jeweller and ask about the methods he/she uses or directly give your gold to him/her and ask him/her to clean it in the best possible way. Te price won/t be high but the quality that will be achieved will be significantly different from the one you will have, doing the same things in your home.

So, you do not have to call cleaners Kingston upon Thames in order to deal with your little gold or silver ring, but if perfection is what you are aiming for, you'd better ask them to clean instead of you.

However, you can call cleaners Kingston Vale if you want, but if you want to save money, you may have to try to solve the little cleaning issue alone.
