Forbidden Planet

Like Scooby Doo, Spiderman was born in the 1960s but still retains a hold in the imaginations of school-aged children everywhere. Whereas Scooby is aided and abetted by a gang of meddling kids, the web-headed one works alone, is a much more complex character and doesn’t have a best friend called Shaggy.
A Marvel Comics superhero, Spiderman was jointly created Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in the early 1960s. The alter-ego of an orphaned sociopathic teenager Peter Parker, Spiderman combats his foes with superhuman strength, spider-like agility, web-shooters and a tingling ‘spider-sense’.
This life-sized model was found in the Forbidden Planet store on Shaftsbury Avenue in London’s West End. Named after a 1956 science fiction movie, Forbidden Planet is a bookshop chain that sells sell comic books, graphic novels, manga, DVDs, video games, a wide variety of toys, clothing and other collectible merchandise.
