Explanation of the P90X Nutrition Plan

The P90X Nutrition Plan is a core element of P90X. However, a lot of people seem to overlook it thinking that if they just clean up their diet a little that will be enough.
Any improvements to your diet is a good thing, but the diet plan comes with P90X is designed to work with the program and to help you achieve the best results.

Why is the P90X Nutrition Plan so different than just cleaning up your existing diet?

The P90X Nutrition Plan is divided up into three phases.
Each phase is for the use of the fitness gain of body and under way to adapt the program.

The first phase is the Fat Shredder diet.
High-protein, low carbohydrate. A higher protein diet like this tends to help the body burn more fat.
However, the carbs are too low to stay on this diet long term. You need carbs to work out the energy.

That's why the phase two diet is called Energy Booster.
You can use the carbohydrate intake to one unit per day to three. You will probably feel a bit more energetic and you'll be able to workout a little harder.
You have gained some physical strength, in phase one.

Now in its second phase, you want to keep the momentum and push all the results to a new level.

The phase three diet, called endurance maximizer, is sort of optional.
You can actually eat quite well the two-stage long-term diet. However, the phase three diet is worth a try. At this stage the amount of carbohydrates uses protein intake as a way to disperse it where it needs to go.

A lot of people worry that adding all those carbs will interfere with their weight loss goal.
If you are after a good plan and healthy eating carbs, then it should not be the case.

The idea of the phase three diet is that it models the way an athlete would eat.
To be able to bring even more energy for training. Since your fitness level has increased by this point, having the energy to push harder in a more will give you better results.

The P90X nutrition plan is designed to help you progress throughout the program. The key is to stick to the portion sizes and stick to the food lists.
This way you get the right number of calories and eating nutritionally sound food.

Changing your eating habits is one of the hardest things for people to do but it does get easier as you go and over time you will form new healthier habits that will serve you long after 90 days.
