Ensure that your dog gets plenty of clean water in the first 24 hours and withhold ALL food This will allow your dog's digestive system to settle down. After 24 hours you can start to give your dog some bland food, such as chicken and rice. Do this in small portions about 4-5 times a day and this should hopefully clear the diarrhea up.

If the diarrhea subsides, you can start to put your dog back on his ordinary diet. This will now be an ideal time to get your dog onto an overall healthier diet. If he's still suffering after 36-48 hours then you should consult your vet.
