DETERMINING A GOOD QUALITY WINE CAN BE JUST PERSONAL TASTE

When it comes to determining a good quality wine you really should understand how wine quality is determined and how that effects the pricing of wine. When you when understand the quality of wine, you can ensure that you are making the best wine purchase for the value of your hard earned money. It can also be helpful when deciding on wines to offer when you decide to throw a wine tasting party orsearch for wine online. Although there are "official" wine qualities, never rule out personal taste. Personal taste is not a determination of wine quality, but if you don't like your wine, it doesn't matter what the wine costs or what the official quality rating is. If you pour two glasses of wine that are the same variety and look at them, you see very little difference between them. They look almost the same. Most likely the only difference you will notice at this point is the price on each bottle varying greatly. Just looking at the two glasses of wine, it can be almost impossible to tell which glass is officially better quality. So, if they look the same, what makes the difference between a better quality and a lower quality wine? More expensive does not necessarily mean the quality of wine is better. Nor does our personal taste. Personal taste does not mean much in rating the quality of wines, but it does mean a lot when determining which wine you will eventually purchase. The general factors when determining a high quality wine are the color, variety, where the grapes were grown, method of production, taste and viscosity. High quality wines are often matured for a longer period of time in oak barrels. These are the main factors in determining the official quality of wines. What it all comes down to, though, is personal taste. No matter what the official quality of your wine is, personal taste is still what is going to make you decide whether or not you will buy a certain wine. If a wine is the most expensive available and given the finest quality rating there is, if you simply don't like that wine, you are most likely not going to purchase it. The wine industry needs to determine what is high quality wine and what is not. All industry must have standards by which produce their products. However, in your wine industry, personal still plays a big role in determining what wine you will purchase. (Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/2103433)
