Computer Aided Design
Over three years ago I started blogging with the sole purpose of trying to get the message across about the endless posibilities of designing just about anything realy with cad software. I must admit at the time I was pretty well hacked off with the so callled free market economies. Which on paper appeared to operate with out any body actually making anything. By now with the way the western economies are you should of guessed that it was a situation that could never be sustained. Most of these economies were built on debt and over inflated property prices. Well that is a generalisation but it is pretty much the way things turned out.
So today being my first post on here I will give a brief outline to how I see things...
cad generated images are truly stunning and real photo realistic images can be created for marketing, product visualisation,And even checking for tolerances and animation of parts.
Here is where we get to the interesting bit, The file that comes with the drawing can be used to make each particular part.
It can be made as many times as you like and with no extra cost.
If you need a larger part you can scale each component in any direction you like.
You can send your parts off by electronic media email etc.
You can show your work force what the end product will look like or even potential customers.
In manufacture there is always a number of ways to make each component so cost benefits can be identified before work even starts.
Is it easy to learn ? No it is not but it is worth the effort.
Well I think I will end it there for today and let you digest what I have written.
I should add that I use cad to design demolition and recycling equipment, Which I used to draw by hand and then put under a profile cutter majic eye.
The use of cad software put an end to the almost endless drawing and truly turned the way around we do things.
