Children of Vision

A serpentine sorceress casts her beautiful haunting eye over the beautiful people of Portobello Road. Unisex hairdressers Children of Vision’s shop front offers a mind-blowing artistic representation of the individuality and creativity of one of London’s coolest market streets.

In tough economic times with ever rising commercial rental costs it is becoming more difficult for independent shops to prosper, especially in (s)wanky Notting Hill. To make matters worse there’s the mega shopping Westfield shopping mall in nearby Shepherd’s Bush (so big it has its own underground station), where shoppers get to re-enact scenes from the Dawn of the Dead on a daily basis.

The shop recently featured in a docu-soap-reality style UK tv show called Seven Days, based around real-life characters in the local area. Trust me when I say that this piece of artwork is a much more interesting proposition than the stars of the series.
