CES 2012 News Roundup Part 2

Samsung:

Being the number one Smartphone sellers in 2011 definitely made Samsung more renowned and improved their  quality of products...I was expecting a lot but Again, not much was announced by them except the more in depth demo on the Galaxy Note. The specs are a 5.3" Super AMOLED HD display, with a dual 1.4GHz Exynos chip and a gig of RAM. It also comes with either 16GB or 32GB storage and of course an 8MP camera with 1080p video. Lastly, it comes with a 256 Level of Pressure Sensitivity Stylus pen which is a nice addition to the device. It will be released on the AT&T LTE network, no date given.

ASUS:

Like I mentioned before, only Asus knows how to pull off a conference. Not only do they come up with awesome innovative devices like the Transformer, they come out with reliable stuff and they also LOVE to listen to consumers. People complain and BAM they fix the problem. First amazing announcement is that the Eee Pad Memo I showed you before...well just say that it will have an NVIDIA TEGRA 3 QUAD CORE CHIP...and to boot this amazingness, it will only cost $249!!! $250 for a 7" with Super IPS HD display, a gig of RAM, 16 or 32GB storage and an 8MP camera with 1080p video...is like a MIRACLE! Props to Asus for such a killer device that won't make our wallets suffer :D

Asus is so busy that after releasing the Transformer Prime...they just announced an Updated Prime model, the TF700T. There are 3 main differences with this one and they are:

  • A different finish. Instead of Spinned Aluminum, it is now a solid piece of Aluminum with a black bezel on the top. This supposedly will "enhance" WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS functionality.
  • It has a much nicer resolution, 1920 x 1200 (Beautiful 1080p xD) compared to the 1280 x 800 of the Prime.
  • Lastly, it has a 2MP front facing camera compared to the 1.3MP of the Prime
  • Other than that, they are identical specs wise. Also, the TF700T will be compatible with the Prime's keyboard dock.

That's all for today. Couple of more conferences that will be held for the next 4 days, so let's hope we can get some more Android news! Later!
