British Train Company Uses Little People to Boost Profits

East Coast trains have relaunched their Miniature Prices campaign and are using a variety of miniature people in their adverts that closely resemble the work of installation artist Slinkachu. The characters include a bagpiper, vikings, a selection of mummies, fun runners, Marilyn Monroe and Johnny Wilkinson.

You may have seen Slinkachu’s Little People blog or book but here are a few photos to remind you of his work (click on image for full size version):

‘Spilt Milk’

‘The Lair’

‘The High Life’

I think this is a nice spin on a previous concept and should guarantee the company gets good word of mouth marketing as a result. That said, when you have the might of Richard Branson’s Virgin trains as competition, it’s always going to be an uphill struggle.
