BCS Predictions: 2010 Arizona Wildcats

The 2010 Arizona Wildcats are coming off back-to-back bowl seasons under head coach Mike Stoops, who will be entering his 7th season on the job with a career mark of 33-39 straight up in college football picks. Last year Arizona finished 8-5 straight up and 6-5-1 against the spread in NCAA football odds and was blown out in the Holiday Bowl by Nebraska 0-33. The Wildcats have 8 starters back on offense but just 4 on defense but have 5 conference home games in the Pac 10 after having a shot at winning the league last year. Arizona opened at online sportsbooks with an over/under win total of 7.5 OVER (-150), a 70-1 choice to win the championship in 2011 BCS odds and a +450 favorite to win the Pac-10 conference.
Junior quarterback Nick Foles returns to lead an offense that scored 27 points per game in college football betting odds last year. He threw for 2,486 yards and a 19/9 TD/INT ratio. Top running back Nic Grigsby, a senior, and last year's leading receiver Juron Criner, a junior, both return as do most key skill players. Although 7 starters are gone from the defense there are plenty of experienced lettermen ready to lead the team in college football picks. Tim Kish and Greg Brown were named as co-defensive coordinators as Mark Stoops left for Florida State.
Arizona had eventual Pac-10 champion the Oregon Ducks on the ropes before letting them off the hook in an overtime loss that may have cost them the Rose Bowl. They also suffered a 33-36 loss at Washington but did beat Oregon State and the USC Trojans on the road. The Wildcats will need to develop their defense and consistency to be a serious contender for the league title in college football picks especially since the Pac-10 conference is wide open so the opportunity is there.
