This papercraft is the Oshino Shinobu, based on the light novel / anime series Bakemonogatari, the paper craft is designed by Moemon. Shinobu Oshino is a mysterious girl who acts as Meme’s constant companion. She appears to be an eight-year-old girl, but she was originally a beautiful vampire who had lived for more than 500 years.
In her current state, Shinobu is a young girl with yellow eyes and golden-blond hair whose ends curl outward at the end. She wears a loose pink dress and a pair of sandals, and is often seen wearing an aviator cap.
After losing her vampire powers, Shinobu falls into a long period of stupor. She is frequently seen in Meme’s place with her hands tucking her knees in, her face always in an emotionless state; she often spends most of the day in one spot, doing mostly nothing. Shinobu also does not talk to anyone, but she is familiar with Koyomi and Meme, and she would follow requests from either of them without hesitation.
Bakemonogatari, a portmanteau of bakemono (ghost or monster) and monogatari (story), is a Japanese light novel series written by Japanese novelist Nisio Isin and illustrated by Taiwanese illustrator Vofan; the series is published by Kodansha under the Kodansha Box imprint. The story centers on Koyomi Araragi, a third-year high school student who survived a vampire attack, and finds himself mixed up with all kinds of apparitions, gods, ghosts, mythological beasts, and spirits. An anime adaptation by Shaft aired 12 episodes between July and September 2009, and release three more episodes online between November 2009 and June 2012. An anime film will be produced based on the prequel novel Kizumonogatari, and the sequel Nisemonogatari had a TV anime adaptation which aired from January to March 2012.
Bakemonogatari centers on Koyomi Araragi, a third year high school student who is almost human again after briefly becoming a vampire. One day, a classmate named Hitagi Senjōgahara, who never talks to anyone, falls down the stairs into Koyomi’s arms. He discovers that Hitagi weighs next to nothing, in defiance of physics. Despite being threatened by her to keep away, Koyomi offers his help, and introduces her to Meme Oshino, a strange middle-aged man living in an abandoned building, who cured him of being a vampire.
The series tends to introduce only one new heroine per chapter, each involved with a different “apparition.” Most of them have an item which symbolises their spectres, such as Hitagi’s stapler – the claw of a crab, Mayoi’s back pack – the shell of a snail, Suruga’s arm – the arm of a monkey, Nadeko’s big hat and baggy jacket – the head and skin of a snake, and Karen’s yellow suit with black stripes – the colors of a bee. The events of the previous chapters play an important role in the subsequent ones. The series primarily focuses on conversations between characters; it contains a fair number of parodies of other series, as well as Nisio Isin’s trademark word play and metahumor.
