When I read the publisher’s short description for Accidents of Providence by Stacia M. Brown, I knew I had to get my hands on an advance readers’ copy. This historical novel sounded perfect for a review around Valentine’s Day. It’s a historical novel that combines romance with a bit of mystery, politics and 17th century British courtroom drama.

Stacia M. Brown’s idea for Accidents of Providence came to her while researching 17th century martyrs in the British Library for her dissertation. Her research made me feel like I had stepped back into 17th century England. It was a time of great upheaval politically and religiously.
