2012 Expectations and CES
This year is coming to an end and we will enter 2012, another year of Technological growth. I expect and hope for a lot of new and cool stuff to be released. I have taken a linking to Robot developments using Android Phone systems which I believe might be huge in the future. Having a phone that is able to do everything from Calling, to browsing and even to controlling a Robot would be great. Also having the ability to adapt and learn from situations, basically an adaptive learning AI, using some nice Open Source Apps would beneficial for all those interested.
CES 2012 will be hosted on Jan 10-13 and for those who are not aware, CES is the Consumer Electronics Show where all major companies display their latest "toys" and make people drool for months before they can get their hands on the devices.
A couple of known highlights are of course the Quad Core chips for Tablets, currently the first being the NVidia Tegra 3 chip and following this pattern will be Qualcomm and Samsung's Exynos. Another famous device that was shown last year but only in a mock up model was the ASUS Padfone. Last but not least, the famous, Samsung Galaxy SIII.
These devices are the only ones that are known to everybody before the show. I would like to see many more companies showing off their greatest developed devices. I'm also really interested in Intel's Smartphone since they are currently the leaders in CPU Manufacturing.
Something that would just make the best new year would be Battery Life improvements using new forms of energy. An example is the Titanium Dioxide Nano Particles, and those are great as they can charge a phone from scratch to 50% in only 30 seconds...once these are implemented, Android OS will reach a much higher level. One of the disappointing points of Google's OS is that it doesn't go to sleep...the screen simply turns off while everything is running however, Apple was able to think of creating a "deep sleep" for their OS so that it uses much less energy. BUT once we have this technology, Android will definitely crush any other OS out there :D
