I am only going to list one... well actually one and a half, because it is the most important and can render all the other great ideas useless.
Let's cut to the chase. The best way to increase your Alexa Rank is to use the Alexa toolbar. The other half is to encourage your users to do the same.
Why is that? That sounds stupid! Well, Alexa only calculates traffic that passes through their system. If the site you want to improve does not have an Alexa widget or the browser you use doesn't have the Alexa toolbar, that traffic won't count, regardless of the clickthrough and everything.
